Panel 1:
A father and two children stand in a park. The daughter and son look up at their father curiously, who looks nervous.
Daughter: "Dad, can you teach us the birds and the bees? Our teacher said to ask our parents."
Dad (thinking): "Oh boy, here we go..."

Panel 2:
The father faces his kids, smiling wearily. In the background is the park, along with strange flying creatures in the background that have traits of both birds and bees. A sign in the park warns about a silhouette of these creatures.
Dad: "Well... I wanted to keep you both innocent until you were older, but... I guess I can't shelter you forever."

Panel 3:
The father begins to explain matter-of-factly. The bird/bee creature flies towards him from behind, claws outstretched, screeching terribly. As it gets closer we can see that it's enormous, as the people in the park look on in terror.
Dad: "You see, when a mad scientist loves birds and bees very much, an unholy union is conducted in which--"
Beerd: "SCRAWZZT!!!"

Panel 4:
The father is snatched up into the bird/bee creature's claws and carried off into the sky. The two children look on in dismay.
Dad: "Ask your motherrrrrr!"

Alt Text:
Mom: "Was your father talking shit about my work again?"

016 - Birds/Bees

August 20, 2025

No parent loves giving The Talk about why there are so many screeching monstrosities around. Or why there are those bird/bee things. "Beerds"? Sure why not.

This stripp features a cameo from a brand new Patron! As a reminder, joining the Trueniverse Patreon at the $5+ level gets you drawn into a comic, along with a ton of other bonus content from previous tiers like creator commentary on every comic update. More importantly, it's one of the best ways to support original indie comics. The more financial support my work gets, the more time I can spend making webcomics instead of chasing paid work, which means more frequent comic updates! It's a win/win for everybody.
